Re-Visiting the Classics on Diversity and Inclusion: Session Three

Tuesday, November 11, 2014 - 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm

In "Toward a New Sociology of Masculinity," Tim Carrigan, Bob Connell and John Lee explore the history of ideas of masculinity, both in the context of feminism, and in the history and culture of gender and gender roles before the advent of feminism. This article is an excellent presentation of sociological approaches to the field of men’s studies. One of the authors, R.W. Connell, has become the leading figure internationally in masculinity studies. The article is available on the CETL website by clicking the calendar event for this session.
