What’s next for you?

You have decided to that now’s the time for you to move to your next career chapter. Perhaps the timing was forced upon you. Or maybe you’ve simply decided it’s time for something new. But before you start, here are several key elements for a successful job search:

Job Search Tools

In a job search, you are marketing a product and that product you’re “selling” is you. It’s difficult to look objectively about your own accomplishments and identify what a potential hiring manager will be looking for. Although you have great skills, you are probably not the best person to write your own resume. It takes a specially trained individual who is up on what hiring managers need and want today. By investing in yourself, you will save money in the long run to get the job of your dreams faster. Don’t wait until that perfect job is posted. Get yourself ready NOW!

You need to make sure you have the right personal marketing materials ready for your job search. These days, hiring managers get hundreds of applications for any one open position. Your resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn Profile need to showcase your qualifications and paint a story about why you are the best person for the job.

We all know a looking for a job can be daunting. In today’s marketplace, you need to do more than just submit resume after resume to job boards. Do you know how to enlist social media and your valuable contacts to help you find your ideal job? Are you on LinkedIn? If not, you need to be! In addition to an engaging LI profile, you need to know how to utilize your contacts in a directed networking search. It’s been estimated that 80% to 90% of jobs are landed because of networking.
