The Provost Office at the University of Northern Iowa invites applications for the academic administrator position of Special Assistant to the Provost for Personnel and Administration.  University faculty and staff are invited to apply for this 12-month appointment.  The search will be conducted internally.

The Special Assistant to the Provost will work closely with the Provost on a number of diverse tasks particularly related to personnel, academic administration, communications, academic budgets, academic space and building repairs, and collective bargaining, as well as special projects assigned by the provost.  The special assistant will serve as a liaison with the Human Resources office, United Faculty, the Board Office, and Regents institutions.  The special assistant will also respond to Board Office inquiries, assist with requests for information and analysis of faculty personnel matters, and serve as the provostís signatory authority for specified administrative purposes.

Required Qualifications:  An earned Master's Degree is required; a terminal degree is desirable.  Excellent organizational, written, and oral communications skills are essential.  Experience in academic personnel, budgeting, public relations, or administration is desirable.  Knowledge of UNI bargaining contracts is also desirable.
