Pride Week at UNI

April 3-7, 2023

Pride Week

What does Pride stand for?

Originally adopted by University of California-San Francisco Medical Center 16 years ago, these set of values are organized under the acronym PRIDE, which stands for Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Diversity and Excellence.

‌What is the goal of Pride Month?

LGBTQ+ Pride Month occurs in the United States to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. As a result, many Pride events are held during this month to recognize the impact LGBTQ+ people have had in the world.

At UNI, we want people to be able to celebrate while classes are still in session, and celebrate in April to accommodate the semester calendar.
