Housing & Meals

Housing:

  • On-Campus Flats (Apartments)
    • Alexander Court
    • Beech Court
  • Off Campus Flats (Apartments)
    • Union Street Development
    • Lyon Crescent

Four to ten students live with one other in each apartment, in single bedroom flats. Each bedroom contains a sink, mirror, desk, chair, wardrobe, and drawers. Students will have a shared living/dining room, kitchen, and bathroom(s).

The University of Stirling's campus is located just outside the city, which means they offer both on and off campus accommodations to study abroad students. Students who opt to live off campus will live in the city and need to commute to campus for classes. There are many buses that continuously run all day between the university and city. Rental bikes are also available to use for free up to a half hour. Some off campus accommodations are within walking distance as well.

Visit the University of Stirling's website to view more information on each apartment location.

Meals:

All accommodations are self-catered, so students are expected to cook for themselves. Apartments are equipped with fridges, freezers, microwaves, ovens, and kettles for students to cook their own meals. Grocery stores and the shopping center are located near bus stops making them easily accessible for students, but grocery stores deliver to student accommodations as well. There is also a mini grocery store, pharmacy, bar, and a few eateries located on campus as well that many students enjoy.

Summer School

The University of Stirling offers a fun and unique International Summer School program. The program is divided into 2 blocks, with different course options offered for each. Block 1 is offered during the month of June, and Block 2 runs through the month of July.

Students can choose to participate in one or both blocks, and take 1-2 modules (classes) per block. Modules have been tailored specifically for international summer school students. This means classes run Monday-Wednesday, and Thursday's or Friday's are saved for excursions to different parts of the country creating a fun, hands on learning experience!

Along with planned field trips in relation to course content, the university also organizes transportation for students for day trips to other Scottish cities including Edinburgh, Glasgow, or St. Andrews. This provides students the opportunity to experience all Scotland has to offer in a stress-free and affordable way!

For those who may not want to venture far from campus, the university also hosts a range of social activities in the Stirling community for students to participate in including mini highland games, ghost tours, nature walks, and a farewell Ceilidh - a traditional Scottish dance with a live band! Make this summer a memorable one in Scotland!

Note that the budget sheet reflects the cost of one block. Please work with the Study Abroad Center to obtain a custom budget sheet if you plan to participate in both blocks as costs will vary.
